Diablo IIIBy: Mia @ 04-Jul-2010 02:04am

The game takes place in Sanctuary, the dark fantasy world of the Diablo series. This world was saved twenty years prior by a handful of unnamed heroes in Diablo II. Warriors that survived the onslaught of the armies of the Burning Hells have gone mad from their ordeals and it is up to a new generation of heroes to face the forces of evil threatening the world of Sanctuary. Players will have the opportunity to explore familiar settings such as Tristram.

The only confirmed NPC is Deckard Cain, who has appeared in both of the previous games. Cain's journal on the official site brings the player up to speed on the events of the first two games. Diablo's world map is composed primarily of two main continents with several small islands in the Northwest region.

Diablo III will use a custom 3D game engine in order to present an overhead view to the player, in a somewhat similar way to the isometric view used in previous games in the series. Enemies will utilize the 3D environment as well, in ways such as crawling up the side of a wall from the depths into the combat area. Every creature model will have around 35 unique death animations.

As in Diablo II, multiplayer games will be possible using Blizzard's Battle.net service, with many of the new features being developed for StarCraft II also available in Diablo III. Players will be able to drop in and out of sessions of co-operative play with others.

As of June 2010, four of the five classes have been unveiled: the Barbarian, the Witch Doctor, the Wizard, and the Monk. The Barbarian is the only class that Blizzard is planning to bring back from Diablo II for the initial release. Blizzard has also stated that the Monk is not related in any way to the Monk class from the Sierra Entertainment made Diablo: Hellfire expansion.

In the previous two games, each class had a fixed sex, but in Diablo III, players may choose the sex they would like to play. Although Blizzard initially revealed only one sex per class, the alternate sex is being revealed slowly in the lead-up to the game's release.

"Two decades have passed since the demonic lords, DiabloMephisto, and Baal, set out across the world of Sanctuary on a vicious rampage, twisting humanity to their unholy will. Yet for those who battled the Prime Evils, the memory fades slowly.

When Deckard Cain returns to the ruins of Tristram Cathedral seeking clues to defeat new stirrings of evil, a fiery harbinger of doom falls from the heavens, striking the very ground where Diablo once entered the world. This fire from the sky reawakens ancient evils and calls the heroes of Sanctuary to defend the mortal world against the rising powers of the Burning Hells once again."

Read Dead RedemptionBy: Mia @ 04-Jul-2010 01:20am

Red Dead Redemption is an open world action-adventure Western video game, developed by Rockstar San Diego and published by Rockstar Games. It was released for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 in May 2010. It is a spiritual successor to 2004's Red Dead Revolver.

Most of the game's story takes place in the year 1911 in the American Old West territory and follows John Marston, a former outlaw, while he sets out to hunt down his former gang members.

Upon its release, Red Dead Redemption was met with universal critical acclaim with a 95/100 on both review aggregate websites Metacritic and GameRankings, making it one of the highest rated video games for both the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 on both websites.

Red Dead Redemption gives the player a large open world environment allowing the player to explore. Players can interact with the environment and combat enemies with firearms. Different breeds of horses are the main forms of transportation. Swimming is not an option, as the protagonist John Marston cannot swim - he will drown if he ventures too far into the water.

As well as following the main storyline, players can take part in random events they encounter as they explore the West. These include public hangings, ambushes, pleas for assistance, stranger encounters, drive-by shootings, and dangerous animal attacks. For example, if a group of people ride into town firing guns in the air, the player can kill them, and will receive a bonus of honor and fame. Players can also take part in optional side activities ranging from standoffs, gambling, and hunting animals for pelts, meat and other various items.

Battlefield 3 is comingBy: Tcboss @ 11-Jun-2009 06:11pm

A post on twitter has come on 6 hours ago from the senior producer of Dice.

We can confirm that Battlefield 3 is currently in development but at this stage we have no further comments to add.

Click here to read it yourself. The same message has been posted on the EA Forums as well.

According to a post on G4TV.com, battlefield 3 is in development.

Criterion Games working on a Need For Speed game wasn't the only surprising bit of news that Electronic Arts chief operating office John Pleasants tucked into his presentation at the William Blair Growth Stock Conference I listened to today. Pleasants confirmed he's seen DICE's work on Battlefield 3.

"I've had the luxury of looking at Battlefield 3 over at DICE in Sweden and was highly impressed by the way the team is working on that product," he said. "Of course, that's not [coming out] in the fiscal year, but that is a product that is looking very good."

Gamers worried that Battlefield: Bad Company, Battlefield Heroes and Battlefield 1943 were a three-pronged answer to fans demanding a third Battlefield don't have to worry. Battlefield 3 is coming!

Fuel - Thé racegame?By: Tcboss @ 10-Jun-2009 07:32pm

FUEL is the new race-game from Codemasters. Everyone expects a lot of it, but what is it actually?

FUEL is a game that is set on earth, but the earth has become uninhabitable because of the greenhouse effect. So, in FUEL you can find a lot of deserts. The game also has a lot of ice plains, forested areas, mountains, beaches, and of course pieces of road. You can find destroyed cities everywhere. This virtual world is 14,400 km² in total, and you can go anywhere you want.

Still not convinced? It also includes a few extreme weather conditions. What would you think if a gigantic powerful tornado would close in on you while racing? While the tornado destroys everything around you, you sometimes have to find another route, because there are pieces of debris everywhere.

A few daredevils stayed on the almost-empty-earth, to organize races. And – what else – one of those daredevils is you! You can go wild on the earth without being bored, because there are over 70 different vehicles!

Producer Phil Wright, describes FUEL as the most open game ever made. “It might take a few hours to get from one of the edges of the game-world to the other, but it is possible!”

Next to the artificial borders at the edge of the game world, there are several blockades which you will encounter. Think about water, piled up rocks, or simply the fact that you chose the wrong vehicle for the terrain.

The developer Asobo Studios – which is founded in France, and besides FUEL also developed Ratatouille and WALL-E – has done a lot of research in the American environment. They even used satellite data to get information about remote areas. “Mount Rainier, Crater Lake, Yellowstone and the Grand Canyon have been developed this way”, said the producer.

FUEL will arrive the 29th of may for the PS3. The Xbox360 users will have to wait a week longer, because for them the game arrives the 5th of June. When FUEL will be released for the PC isn’t know yet, maybe also in June.
